December Interview, (Page 4/4)
Do we get to see any historical people, like Churchill, Hitler, Eisenhower, etc?

Mike: No, all characters are completely fictional.

Are there any plans to release mapping tools? We know you guys aren’t really keen on doing that, but we all know that it will help building a big and strong community.

Mike: None planned but we are discussing it at the moment.

The following text is quoted from an interview with José Manuel Garcià, interviewed by the gaming website Computer and Video Games (dot com):
CVG: “Tell us something you haven’t told anyone else about CSF.”
Garcià: “Hmmm, nice question. Okay, Commandos Strike Force will not be an isolated game, but part of something else.”
This mysterious answer got us confused. Can you shed some light on it please?

Mike: It also confused me, he is a very mysterious man :)

When can I pick up my copy of the game? Can we try a demo before that as well?

Mike: We are releasing in March 2006 and we’ll have demos on PS2, PC and Xbox a few weeks before that.

How is the design process of the maps being done? We’ve seen some 3D renders of maps for previous games in artworks. How does this help in the development?

Mike: We are actually putting together a “making of” video and will be doing some developer diaries prior to release. Keep and eye out for those.

The jobs page of Pyro Studios’ site reveals some information about the making of a tycoon stylish game. Please tell us something more about that.

Mike: Sorry, no can do! :) [A :( would be more appropriate here, Mike. ;) ~TAFN]

Regarding the Imperial Glory editor has been said that you’re not willing to release it because it might be used for future titles. But what about the older games, like the original Commandos and Praetorians? We don’t see you using its editors anymore, why don’t you release those? People are still eager to mod these games to the limit.

Mike: You’ll have to ask Pyro Studios about that. Do you think people would still want them?

Is there anything else you want to add or share for the interview?

Mike: There are lots of games out there that are all about grabbing a gun and shooting the hell out of anything that moves. You are an average soldier and part of a large group assaulting the enemy. We’re not! We want everyone to know that when they play Commandos Strike Force they will be part of the elite, we are going behind enemy lines and the enemy aren’t expecting us. The enemy are patrolling, smoking cigarettes, working out, shaving, etc…
Commandos Strike Force isn’t about steaming in and clearing a town of Nazis. It’s about sneaking into the town, giving the enemy a salute then breaking their necks and eliminating the commanding officer while he’s distracted by a local lady of the night. Of course if that fails then you can always get the trusty machine gun out and try “route one” gun and run.
